Athletic Training Major

Major in Athletic Training

Merrimack College offers a degree pathway that allows students to complete a Master of Science in Athletic Training in combination with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science or Health Science in only five years.

Photo by Mary Schwalm 6/21/18 The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training requires all professional education in athletic training to be at the master’s level. As a result, Merrimack has transitioned the current Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training to a Master of Science in Athletic Training and will no longer be admitting students to that degree.

First, you will choose your preferred athletic training track: exercise science or health science. This will lead to a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree or a Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree. After you complete your bachelor of science, you will continue your studies and earn a Master of Science in Athletic Training.
