  • Director, Community Partnerships, Education and Community Studies

I have worked in the field of public health for 20 years, including work as a senior community health specialist at the Northeast Center for Healthy Communities in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and director of health promotion at the Charles County Health Department in Maryland.

I have worked closely with African-American churches, schools, community-based organizations, health coalitions, health-care providers and youth organizations to provide and support culturally relevant programs for diverse populations.

I have a passion for diversity and culture, and was trained as a dialogue facilitator at the University of Michigan Program on Intergroup Relations and Conflict, where I co-facilitated a course on White Women and Women of Color. I have also taught courses in introductory sociology and human sexuality at the College of Southern Maryland.

My interests include world religions, African-American heritage, racial development of adopted children, program evaluation, learning Spanish and kayaking.
