Major and Minors

The Department of Political Science & Public Policy offers you the opportunity to learn more in a variety of ways.  We have a major in political science, and minors in political science, pre-law, cyber security, and public policy. In our programs, you can learn about our political systems, political leaders, government policies, and social and international conflicts, and sharpen your analytical research and critical thinking skills.

Graduate Programs

Our faculty support the interdisciplinary Master of Public Administration & Affairs program for students interested in graduate programs, with the possibility for motivated students to earn an undergraduate and graduate degree at Merrimack in as little as five years. We also have many graduates go on to pursue law school or graduate school in a range of fields at other colleges and universities around the region, country, and world.

Pursue a Wide Range of Careers

Our goal is for you to truly understand the discipline, develop your academic skills and think critically about the world around you. We prepare you to become a thoughtful member of society and to pursue a wide range of careers in law, political science, international relations, public administration, communications and more.  Our graduates work for local, state, and federal governments, non-profits, political campaigns, and advocacy organizations, and hold a range of positions in the corporate world and law field.
