Public Administration and Affairs Graduate Fellowship Process

Priority Application Deadline: February 15, 2023

After the priority deadline, applications for 2023-2024 fellowships will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

The fellowship selection/appointment process for the Master of Public Administration and Affairs program is as follows:

1. To be considered for a graduate fellowship, apply to the Master of Public Administration and Affairs program and indicate your fellowship interest within your online application by checking the box for Fellowship Interest. All interested students must submit a Fellowship Essay.
2. The MPAA program will begin considering fellowship applications of admitted students on February 15, 2023, and will continue considering applicants until all fellowships are awarded. While there is no published final deadline, the earlier the student is admitted the better the chance of being awarded a fellowship.
3. Applicants who are admitted by February 15, 2023, will be notified of their status in the process by March 1, 2023.
4. You will then receive a list of all available fellowships in the program and provide us with your top 3-5 fellowship preferences. These rankings will be used to assign student fellowship interviews.
5. You will participate in virtual interviews in March 2023.
6. Fellowship placement will happen no later than April 1, 2023.
7. You will have until April 15, 2023, to accept or decline your fellowship.

Please note:

• Participation in the fellowship placement process is NOT a guarantee of a fellowship.
• Master of Public Administration and Affairs fellowships begin in the fall or spring semesters.
• Acceptance into the fellowship program is a competitive process. In addition to the materials required for traditional graduate admittance, the fellowship application may require additional documents and an interview.
• If you are offered and accept a fellowship position, you will not be eligible for any other discounts or scholarships, including a merit-based Dean scholarship or the Double Warrior alumni scholarship
• When you apply for the fellowship, you are also automatically considered for the traditional degree program.
• If you are admitted into the traditional program but not offered a fellowship, you will automatically be considered for a Dean scholarship.
• If you are originally awarded a scholarship and then are given a fellowship placement, you will no longer receive the merit scholarship. The fellowship will replace any other discounts.
